Join Us for “Against the Grain”: Robert L.B. Tobin and The Expressionist Print

Robert L. B. Tobin was an avid collector of art, rare books, and theatre designs. He and his mother, Margaret, were actively involved in the McNay since its founding
in 1954. Although Tobin served on the board of numerous cultural institutions, including MoMA and the Metropolitan Opera, he focused much of his attention on the McNay and collected with the McNay in mind.

Tobin was independent, with an eye for diverse subjects and beautiful but tough works. This exhibition highlights the unusual nature of his expressionist prints—both visually and psychologically striking, they present a dedication to the modernist aesthetic.

At West Oaks Apartments in San Antonio, Texas, we believe it’s important to integrate yourself into the community, which is why we suggest attending this event. Meeting new people, having unfamiliar experiences, and joining neighborhood activities is the key to an exceptional lifestyle.
